The Five Orange Pips is my latest podcast in the series of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's favourite Sherlock Holmes short stories.
The five pips, packaged in blue paper, are a death threat. The message is that the person should comply with a demand or die.
This is one of only two Sherlock Holmes short stories where Holmes' client dies after seeking his help; the other being "The Adventure of the Dancing Men," featured in an earlier podcast.
